October,2015; the most approximate date I can give for my first very production. For the past 4 years i had being doing various charity events, but nothing that was ever connected. I the compassion to give back to the community, but was never able to be unique. For example I helped in teaching traditional glass painting to blind kids, taught street kids sports like football and badminton, taught basic life skills to kids in an Autistic school in New Delhi and helped a friend in a bake sale to raise money for an NGO. However, after coming back from Haileybury, England, where I was doing Theatre Higher Level in the IB diploma, I felt raising money wasn’t enough. The Chinese say “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.” Money and help can be very temporary to be honest. From what I’ve seen, education seems to last the longest. From there i got the idea to start my own workshop and teach kids about the world of Theatre. India’s youth is energetic and is full of opinion. For too long we have tried to get across our message across through politics or otherwise. I felt it was time to bring art into the picture- another tool for us to raise our voice.
